My childhood cat of 16 years is missing. He's been sick for a couple years and losing weight. A couple times he's gone under a bed or in a closet for a few days, with mom and dad saying they think he's about gone.

But mom said he's been better lately, eating and moving around. At Christmas he was really skinny but seemed happy and active for his age.

But when I packed up my things to back to Philly on Saturday, mom is pretty sure he got out. Usually he'll only stray to the front yard and eat grass. But we left for a few hours without knowing he could be outside.

Mom is so devastated. She's said she's looked everywhere, and I definitely believe that. She said she was prepared for him to die, but to not know where he is is so much more painful. I thought he was doing his hiding thing so he could pass, but the thought of him in the cold and dark breaks my heart. Mom said she just didn't want it to end this way. Even if they find him and he's already gone, at least we know what happened and he can be buried with his family (other pets) out back.

I hate that foolish feeling of crying over pets. They are our best friends. It's really foolish in itself to feel foolish.

I really miss this cat, so badly.

Posted via LiveJournal.app.

inspired by peter, i put together my 2007 album list (a little early, but i don't think there's anything else really coming out).

i'm being kinda unfair with this list. for example, one was originally released in 2006 but i still consider it this year because it wasn't available here until 2007. another just came out overseas but won't be released here until next year. as hypocritical as it is, it still counts. but no, goldfrapp doesn't count as there are rumors it isn't finished (whatever).

HOWEVER, i must say that year has been hella surprising. i would say half these bands i had almost NO interest in before 2007. i didn't think their past efforts were that great, but they really blew me away this year (i'm talking to you panda bear, jens, glass candy, blonde redhead, and especially tegan & sara). others i felt "eh" about but was EXTREMELY astounded (seriously, the new raveonettes is fucking killer). and, i was disappointed by old favorites (bjork and imperial teen). however, this was a good year for some sexy music (thanks chromatics).

and then there was one band i had no idea existed, but ended up making my favorite album of the year. really, what it all comes down to is perfect pop. and they sure did do it.

20. sahara hotnights--"what if leaving is a loving thing"
19. yelle--"pop-up"
18. bonde do role--"...with lasers"
17. lily allen--"alright, still"
16. panda bear--"person pitch"
15. imperial teen--"the hair the tv the baby and the band"
14. interpol--"our love to admire"
13. bjork--"volta"
12. sally shapiro--"disco romance"
11. jens lekman--"night falls over kortedala"
10. glass candy--"b/e/a/t/b/o/x"
09. m.i.a.--"kala"
08. tegan & sara--"the con"
07. chromatics--"night drive"
06. yeah yeah yeahs--"is is"
05. roisin murphy--"overpowered"
04. stereo total--"paris<>berlin"
03. blonde redhead--"23"
02. the raveonettes--"lust lust lust"
01. bella--"no one will know"

i got a roll of film from my holga developed over the weekend. this roll was a year old. half of the photos didn't come out, i guess, as i only got 7 back. 5 of them aren't very good. so really, the price was a total bummer, which sucks. but i suppose that is the luck of the draw.

STILL, these two photos couldn't be captured with a digital camera. the colors are great, i'll always be a sucker for the vignettes, and i just love them:
